You can try to start the modem and turn off all wifi and see if you get a connection.

At that time, download and run to find out what channel is best and then select it. If you must use 2.4, your best solution currently is to set the Rogers devices to modem only and get yourself a decent AC based router. The new Rogers CODA modems have issues with 2.4 Ghz that version. The older Rogers modems have issues that are not fixed with the updated firmware. The above might not be the solution for everybody but it will certainly help some of you with serious speed degradation problems. When reporting your speeds, please try to put in the same message the confirmation that you have implemented these workarounds, the average speeds you were getting before and the new speeds (I'm sorry, there are too many of you reporting speeds and it gets hard for me to track improvement or degradation). Once the above workarounds are implemented, make sure as a last step to reboot your modem. Having some feedback from customers on the effectiveness of these workarounds would however help us move forward quicker. We fully understand that the above are not permanent fixes and are working on making the appropriate corrections via software. Make sure to place any WiFi device such as routers, repeaters, access points at least 1.8 metres (6 feet) away from the modem If your modem is operating in bridge mode, make sure to place your WiFi router at least 1.8 metres (6 feet) away from the modem If your modem is operating in gateway mode, disable the 2.4 GHz wireless from the GUI Connect any computer or router in ports 2, 3 or 4 These are valid in both bridge and gateway mode.įor devices or computer hardwired in the modem, avoid using Ethernet port 1 unless absolutely necessary. With these logs, we were able to identify a trend and a potential root cause.įor the customers affected, by slow speeds would it be possible to try the following workarounds. I was able to pull logs from all the CODA-4582 currently in use by our customers over the week-end. We have been extremely busy in the last few days working with our vendor to characterize this issue, identify the root cause and work on bringing a workaround into play. If have issues then one of the suggestions is to use wan ports 2, 3, 4 as port 1 sometimes only flashes green instead of yellow Posted this on another thread and it is for the new CODA modem but never know might work:

Try placing modem away from all electronics. do as last resort as would then need to reconfigure May want to try to reset modem and/or router. The modem has been recalled due to the issue. *edit* the Rogers coda modem was the cause of the interference. Do you guys think I should try swapping my modem for the new version they just came out with? Other thoughts? I really have no idea what could be causing this. I have read that other people have had bad 2.4ghz performance with the Rogers gigabit service. I am wondering if the Rogers modem itself is causing the interference. I do have a lot of electronics nearby but it seems to be happening even with all of my other gear powered down. This tells me that there is some type of interference going on. The signal cuts in and out, and often I can't even get a connection when I am right up next to the router. At first I thought that the Rogers 3552 modem just had bad 2.4ghz hardware, however I have now tested it with two different routers and they are both showing the same problem. I have only noticed it since I got Rogers gigabit internet.
